Simbu and Nayantara's kiss
Simbu and Nayantara's kiss:
Voyeurism rampant February 9, 2007, 8:42:15 AM
This image of Simbu and Nayantara locked in passion is sending shockwaves through the film industry and elsewhere.
No, not because of this very obvious display of affection between the 2 actors (they have a right to their private lives), but because of the audacity of the person who has taken and spread this picture across the media.
The Simbu-Nayantara romance has been much talked about for many months, but as a civilised society, we must draw the line somewhere and not interfere int he private lives of stars too much, as they have as much right to their privacy as any of us to ours. After this expose, Simbu and or Nayanatara may well give a public announcement of their opinions on this breach of privacy, which we will bring to you as soon as we can. Meanwhile, we hope that, in tha name of cultural sensitivity, no self-righteous group gets the couple into trouble legally, as it is totally not their fault that someone has been spreading images of their private lives everywhere!
Let's hope that more pictures like this are not spread around any more!
Meanwhile, let's move away from this distasteful incident and have a few light moments with the stars on Galatta.com.

Bhavana (born 6 June 1986) is a South Indian actress who acts in Malayalam and Tamil movies. She made her debut in Kamal's Nammal which won her critical acclaim and various honours, including the State award.
Her Tamil Career
She debuted in Malayalam film Nammal opposite newcomers like Siddharth, Jishnu and Renuka Menon. The film was a big success and she got several offers in Malayalam. She has acted with almost all actors of Malayalam including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Dileep, Jayaram, Prithviraj, Kunchacko Boban, Jayasurya etc. Though she got several Tamil films she refused them due to tight schedules. Her first Tamil film originally offered was Koodal Nagar opposite Bharath but shelved due to some technical difficulties, but completed and released recently in April 2007. Her first released Tamil film Chithiram Pesuthadi was a huge success. After that she was flooded with offers in Kollywood. The subsequent Tamil films she did are Kizhakku Kadalkarai Salai and Veyyil. Veyyil was a huge hit in Tamil and her character Meenakshi won the accolades of both fans and critica. Her release in February 2007 Deepavali got very good reviews both for her ravishing girl-next-door looks and her acting in several difficult emotional sequences. Her next projects are Arya with Madhavan . She is also planning to shift to Telugu films. She is proud of her girl-next-door looks and wants to do character roles with a good mixture of glamour and scope for performance. She even refused to act in a Telugu film of Krishnavamsi. Her latest news is that she refused to be part of Simbu's new movie Kettavan because she thinks Simbu's image is tarnished in Tamil cinema these days and she doesn't want to associate with him. Her latest news is that she might be doing the female lead to Allu Arjun in a new Tollywood film. Her role in the film is not confirmed yet.
Her Malayalam Career
Her first movie Nammal was released in 2002. The film also starred Jishnu and Renuka Menon. The film was a big success. Then in 2003, she became the part of big hit movies like Chronic Bachelor, C.I.D.Moosa, Swapnakoodu etc.In 2004 her career turned dim. Her movies like Youth Festival, Parayam, Bunglavil Outha etc bombed at the box-office. She appeared in an Item Number in the film Runway in 2004. Her career was not a successful one in 2004.In 2005 she got meaty roles in movies like Daivanamathil, Naran etc. She got the State Awardfor Best Character Actress for Daivanamathil in 2006. In 2006 she acted only two films. Chinthamani Kolacase, Chess were the films and were big successes. Her latest movie Chota mumbai is an average hit

Career
Making her debut with Mani Ratnam's Tamil film, Iruvar (1997) with Mohanlal,[2] she was introduced to Bollywood in the film, Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya opposite Bobby Deol, which also released that year; the film didn't do well at the box office.[3] However, her third project, S. Shankar's Tamil film, Jeans (1998) was a critical and commercial success, earning her the Filmfare Best Actress Award South.
She went on to appear in many Bollywood films; a few successful films of her career include Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), which earned the actress her first Filmfare Best Actress Award and Taal (1999), which gave her another nomination for Best Actress at the Filmfare; her performances in both the films were lauded.[4] In 2000, she played a supporting role in the hit films Mohabbatein and Josh. Later that year, she also starred in the Tamil film Kandukondain Kandukondain, which won her positive reviews.
In 2002, Rai appeared with superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit in Sanjay Leela Bansali's lavishly produced Devdas. The film attracted overseas attention as well, receiving a special screening at the Cannes Film Festival.[5] It was during this time that she garnered the attention of the West as an Indian actress and went on to appear in a few Hollywood projects. Devdas went on to become the highest grossing film of the year both in India[6] and overseas,[7] earning her the actress her second Filmfare Best Actress Award.
As her name gained popularity overseas, she was chosen by Time magazine in 2004 as one of the World's "100 Most Influential People", and appeared on the cover of Time magazine, Asia Edition (TIMEasia) in 2003. She was the subject of a 60 Minutes profile on January 2. A month later she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman. She also featured on Oprah's "Women Across the Globe" segment. In 2003, she acted in the critically acclaimed and commercial success Bengali film, Chokher Bali, an adaptation of one of Rabindranath Tagore's novels by the same name.
Rai has been a regular at the Cannes Film Festival since 2002, and was a member of the Jury at Cannes in the year 2003. In October 2004, a wax figure of Rai became on display in London's Madame Tussaud's wax museum.[8] The same month, her first foreign film, Bride and Prejudice released. The film was an Indian version of Jane Austen's classic novel Pride and Prejudice. Her next overseas venture was The Mistress of Spices. She then appeared at the closing ceremony of the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, as part of a performance showcasing Indian art, on behalf of the 2010 Commonwealth Games, to be held in New Delhi. In between her overseas acting stints, she appeared in the Indian film Bunty Aur Babli in a hugely popular seven minute dance sequence for the song "Kajra Re".
In 2005, Rai signed a three-year contract with L'Oréal, as a spokesmodel for the cosmetics company.
At the end of the year 2006, she had two releases: Umrao Jaan and Dhoom 2. The former did poorly in India but her role in the latter, which was a sequel to the 2004 hit movie Dhoom brought her great attention. While it was a hit commercially,[9] it also sparked a controversy for a scene containing a kiss between her and Hrithik Roshan, which made audiences uncomfortable; a court case is currently pending in India.[10]
2007 saw the release of Mani Ratnam's Guru which premiered in Toronto. The film, based on the life of Indian businessman Dhirubhai Ambani, was critically acclaimed and did well at the box offic.[11] Her most recent film, Provoked, based on the book "Circle of Light" where she portrays a real life character, was released on April 6, 2007 in India and the UK. At the end of April 2007, her first American film, The Last Legion released in Russia and the Netherlands and later opened in North American theaters in August 2007 disappointingly.

Sneha
Sneha happy with the experience of having acted with Kamalhassan in Vasool Raja is looking forward to the film `Athu' in which she plays a possessed woman. Yet another film coming soon to the theatres is Bose in which she is paired opposite Srikant with whom she has given hits before. A brief chat;
How has it being working with Kamalhassan?
It is a dream to work with Kamalhassan. Any actress who works with him will gain so much of insight in acting. He is so down to earth and jolly. I worked earlier in Pammal K sambandam but this time it was a full-length role. Also director Sharan is a great director that I wanted to work with. Both ambitions were realized.
On what basis do you select roles?
On what basis do you select roles?
I look for variety. After the public acceptance of a homely character called Sathya in 'Parthiban Kanavu', I decided to concentrate more on such roles and stay away from glamour. I did Cheran's friend in 'Autograph' which was a hit and even in a masala film opposite Ajith Kumar in 'Jana' my role was deglamorised. My forthcoming films like Athu produced by V Sundar will be giving out more of my acting skill. All my characters in movies like 'Virumbukiren'; 'King', 'Hey nee Romba Azhaga Irukke', 'Vaseegara', 'April Madhathil' and 'Parthiban Kanavu' have been very good ones and struck a chord with all age groups.
Is not glamour a part of acting?
I don't know whether glamour is a part of acting. The public does not like me to do glamour roles and I am not comfortable wearing glamorous dress. Why should I shift to glamour when my homely roles have always been admired and adored? I feel comfortable playing such roles only
Who is your competitor?
I don't see anyone as my competitor. I am the competitor for myself. My aim is to see that film after film I better my performance with every film I act in and give my best.
Despite you being linked up with Srikant you accepted yet another film with him?
It just shows that it's mere gossip. I don't want to deny or argue or ponder over it. I want to think of positive things only.
Will you come in an item number?
